Former England manager Sam Allardyce has backed Steven Gerrard and Rangers to reverse Celtic’s recent dominance.
The former Bolton and West Ham boss also claimed that all managers can go to Celtic or Rangers and win trophies as he spoke on Alan Brazil’s Breakfast Show on TalkSPORT (25/11, 06:00).
In the controversial comments, Allardyce claimed that the reason why winning is a must at either club is because your job literally depends on it.

“We can all go to Celtic and win trophies,” said Allardyce.
“We can all go to, well soon be Rangers I think the way Steven Gerrard is going and start to win trophies again.
“I think that if you’re at a club that’s like a Celtic or a Rangers, the fans expect you to win trophies and if you don’t do that, you will get the sack.”
It’s a bold claim to suggest that Allardyce could’ve strolled it in Scotland and is perhaps another example of the startling arrogance English football figures have for the Scottish game.
Winning the league in Scotland has proven too big a challenge for the other sides in recent seasons, but as Rangers began to invest in their squad the gap has closed.
That said, it’s difficult to argue against the fact Celtic’s recent dominance has been a by-product of their financial superiority and the lack of a challenge from Rangers.

But to write off the potential success and hard work of Steven Gerrard in overturning that? C’mon Sam.
Still, at least he backed the Ibrox boss to bring success back to the blue side of Glasgow.
