Former Rangers and Celtic star Steven Pressley has backed the Ibrox side to go on and win the title after their 2-1 win over their Old Firm rivals at Celtic Park.
The former Scotland and Hearts defender was speaking after goals from Ryan Kent and Niko Katic helped dumped Celtic and send their fans into meltdown ever since.
According to Pressley, that could be set to continue with the former Carlisle United manager convinced that the psychological impact of the result can catapult Rangers to glory.

“Sunday was a massive psychological boost for Rangers,” said Pressley [Daily Record].
“I go back to Hearts in 2005/06 and we had a top of the table clash with Celtic at Tynecastle over the festive period – we were 2-0 up but lost the game 3-2 and that was a huge psychological advantage to Celtic winning at our ground.
“We could have gone to within a point of them that day at a key time of the season but Celtic kicked on and I don’t think we ever recovered.
“That’s why I think Sunday was such a huge result for Rangers.
“They are now in position but the acid test will be if they can sustain it.
“I actually think Rangers will win the league. Although they are a high-pressure team they also carry a really good physical presence and that’s really important on the road in Scotland.
“They can deal with what people throw at them this season and I think they are equipped to win both ways.”
The comments of Pressley may well rankle with Celtic fans, with the big defender more recently remembered for his time at Celtic Park than Ibrox.

Pressley came through the youth ranks at Ibrox in the early 90s, making 34 league appearances for the Glasgow giants.
After captaining Hearts, the defender would go on to represent Celtic more than 10 years after leaving Ibrox, playing with our Old Firm rivals for two seasons in the mid-2000s.
