The “final vote” on a tragic resolution at the Celtic AGM which seeks to demand an investigation into the awarding of a UEFA license to Rangers in 2010 has failed.

An incredible 97.18% of shareholders opted to vote against the resolution which seeks to challenge UEFA to investigate the granting of the license.

The reimagined Resolution 11 was back on the Celtic Park club’s agenda after previously being discussed as Resolution 12 in years gone by.

This conspiracy seems to focus on the awarding of the license amid Rangers’ financial difficulties – which allowed them to compete in Europe – and the involvement in the SFA and UEFA in doing so.

Those who buy the conspiracy believe that in-turn Celtic, who finished 2nd the season before, were prevented from a crack at the Champions League and the riches which come with it as a result.

But finally – after seven years of this nonsense – the issue appears to have been settled once and for all.

Celtic chairman Ian Bankier said that the decision to pursue this lies with the SFA and that ultimately Celtic have exhausted every option with the resolution.

“The matter has been reviewed by the board on a regular basis,” said Bankier [Scottish Sun].

“I’ve reviewed this matter and I’m satisfied that at no time has anyone at the club mislead shareholders on this issue.

“The club called on the SFA to hold an independent review. The SFA declined to hold such a review.

“The club remains of the view that an independent review is the best way forward. In May 2020, the Scottish FA decided not to process proceedings.

“We all agree this situation is disappointing. Since 2011, the rules of the Scottish FA, SPFL and UEFA have developed and evolved.

“The rules as they stand today are considered to be fit for purpose. As members of the SFA and SPFL, we are one of many clubs who fully expect those rules to be applied fairly and transparently.”

Here’s how Rangers fans originally reacted to the news that Resolution 11/12 was back on the agenda as Celtic fans clutch at straws amid the Changing of the Guards.
