Filip Helander has spoken to the club’s website, about his move to Glasgow
The 6ft 4″ colossus was confirmed as a Rangers player on Saturday and has signed a four-year contract.
After four seasons in Serie A initially with Verona and then Bologna, he’s taking on a new challenge. It sounds as though he’s ready to make his mark in the SPL, too.
“I am delighted to be joining Rangers, it’s a special club with tremendous fans and a unique history,” Helander told the club’s website.
“The opportunity to work with a manager like Steven Gerrard was an easy decision to make.
“I’ve come here to battle for every point and to win trophies and I’m looking forward to meeting my teammates and getting started.”

Just like George Edmundson, Helander cites Stevie G as a major factor in his decision to come to Rangers. Unsurprisingly, players jump at the chance to work with the legendary Liverpool and England midfielder.
Furthermore, it’s clear the centre-back is focused on securing silverware, which should excite the club’s fans.
Back in his time with Malmo, he won back-to-back Allsvenskan titles. As the likely first-choice centre-back partner for Connor Goldson, he should now have a big role to play in the chase for a 55th league title.
Bears will be hoping that with Helander patrolling at the back, success will abound over the next four seasons.
