He scored a late winner against Hibernian on his first Premiership start, before both sparking and completing the dramatic first-leg comeback against Braga with a brace.

In the second leg, he was in the thick of things yet again and although he saw a first-half penalty saved by Matheus, he provided a sublime assist for what would prove to be the winning goal.

Following the game, FIFA tweeted in recognition of his efforts, quoting a post from the Rangers club account.

The tweet referenced Hagi’s likely participation at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo with the Romanian national team and recognised his contribution to the Gers’ European progress.

The world football governing body’s account has 13.2 million followers, so it’s safe to say the attacker is now receiving global attention.

It’s great exposure for both the player and the club, with results like Wednesday night’s putting Rangers back on the map.

Bears will be delighted that while Hagi is currently only on loan, the Gers have an exclusive option to buy come to the end of the season [Rangers.co.uk].
