A ferocious clip of the Slavia Prague team celebrating their Europa League victory over Leicester City has emerged online ahead of their clash with Rangers.
The Czech side are preparing to host Steven Gerrard’s charges in eastern Europe next week and earned passage to the Last 16 with an impressive 2-0 win over Premier League Leicester.
Snapped by the official Europa League Twitter account, Slavia’s passionate back-up goalkeeper Přemysl Kovář was filmed passionately screaming out an intimidating club anthem with his teammates backing it up.
A team littered with mostly Czech players with other names from around Europe and Africa, the bulk of their team is made up of stars well aware of what the club’s fans demand.
If anything, the clip shows the togetherness and passion in their camp and is further evidence they’ll be willing to put everything on the line to make it through the tie.
Rangers know they face a stiff test in Czech but are undoubtedly in with a shout in the clash between two of Europe’s most exciting sides from lesser footballing leagues.
Rangers have captivated the competition with their ambitious, brave play which has heralded a variety of positive results against top opposition.
Slavia too have routinely punched above their weight – even qualifying for the Champions League last season – but have shown they can be beaten in the past.
Rangers will be eager to prove themselves against Jindřich Trpišovský’s side, with the Slavia manager even willing to draw Steven Gerrard’s side in this round before the draw was made.
If the Ibrox side needed any more motivation, Slavia’s players were also filmed cheering the draw as they found out they’d be visiting Glasgow in the next round.
If the Gers are to progress to the quarter final stage, they’ll also need to keep quiet a £45m-rated wonderkid being linked to sides in the Premier League.
