Barry Ferguson never pulled any punches as a player for Rangers and he is already expecting Philippe Clement to do the same.
The former Gers skipper set the standards on the pitch but, in a side that has been struggling, it is up to the new manager to point the team in the right direction.
After a good first impression against Hibs, Ferguson, speaking on the Go Radio Football Show, is now hoping that Rangers can kick on under Philippe Clement and that the difference can be maintained.
Rangers were visibily more aggressive against Hibs.
Not just in how high we were pressing but in how consistently we were pressing.
It didn’t let up at 1-0 or 2-0 and Rangers were constantly being waved on by Philippe Clement.

Ferguson, via the Go Radio Football Show, was happy with what he saw as his old team battered Hibs:
“You could see it on Saturday. When they gave the ball away, they weren’t feeling sorry for themselves, they were working hard to get it back.
“You could see what he’s trying to put into this team and bear in mind he’s only had the full squad for a couple of days.
“But you can already see a difference. I like that he’s not getting carried away and nobody should because it’s only one game.
“Now it’s about showing that in Prague on Thursday night, then on the Sunday against Hearts.
“I want to see it most games.”
Of course, there will be games when Rangers have to be more pragmatic but, playing at Ibrox against any domestic opposition, Philippe Clement has to set his team out in the same fashion.
Barry Ferguson is right, if players gave it away, they tried to win it back.
Keeping it safe was less of a priority too with players encouraged by the new manager to try to make things happen and become an attacking, dominant side once again.
Unlike Michael Beale, Clement doesn’t seem like the type of manager to get carried away and will only focus on improving the players and performances.
A similar result against Sparta Prague wouldn’t go a miss though.
