Rangers star Ryan Jack was the Scotland team’s Man of the Match as the nation fell at the final hurdle in their attempts to top League B Group 2 of the UEFA Nations League.
It was through the same competition which Scotland managed to qualify for Euro 2020, via a penalty kicks playoff victory over Serbia last week.

But the celebrations of that match appear to have taken their toll as Scotland lost their second match in a row, going down 1-0 to Israel just days after being beaten by 1-0 by Slovakia.
Rangers star Jack was a rare bright spark, but this is the first time he has been involved in a Scotland side managed by Steve Clarke which has been beaten.
Now one of the first names on the team sheet, Jack is a technically astute midfielder who uses the ball well but can bite into challenges and is tactically disciplined.
Alongside Celtic star Calum McGregor the duo is forming a formidable partnership in the middle of the Scottish midfield, but it was Jack who earned the plaudits for his display in Netanya.

The Scotland Man of the Match performance also comes after the midfielder lauded Tartan Army boss Steve Clarke for giving him a chance [Glasgow Times].
Jack explained that he didn’t feel part of the Scotland reckoning until the new Hampden gaffer took up the reins.
