Manik Mane is a name that ‘Rangers Twitter’ will be very familiar with, he first gained the attention of the Ibrox legions in 2020 when Rangers travelled to Braga and his dress sense caught the attention of the fans more than his translation skills!
Since then, he has gone on to be a huge fan of the light blues, regularly supporting the club on Twitter and mocking rivals Celtic – much to the delight of the Rangers fans.
In an exclusive interview, the Braga translator told us how excited he was to finally be at Ibrox.
“I’m feeling good, it means a lot to be here, I’m grateful to be here and to receive messages from the fans the last 2 years. Manik Mane is here at Rangers, it’s time to make it happen!”

But this could all have been so different…
He revealed that a bizarre EYE injury meant he had to wear sunglasses to the press conference which caught the attention of the fans.
“I had an illness in my eye because I was in my native country, Guinea Bissau and when I came back to Portugal I was in a bad state, my eye was dreadful, so I had to use glasses.”
He then revealed why he was dressed in a funky suit for the press conference.
“Once I got to the press conference, I had to put my jumper on (as it is colder in Portugal than Africa) but I didn’t want to use it because I like to go to nightclubs which is why I wore my suit.”
Manik revealed that he expects Rangers to win 2-0 with James Tavernier and Steven Davis getting on the scoresheet.
Whatever the result, it is clear that Manik will be most certainly welcome back at Ibrox anytime!
