Juninho Bacuna has been spotted in training ahead of a possible Rangers debut in Thursday night’s Europa League fixture against Lyon.
Bacuna signed on a two-year deal from Huddersfield Town on 19 August but is yet to make it onto the pitch for the Light Blues.
The 24-year-old midfielder made the bench for the 1-0 Old Firm win just prior to the international break and has been building himself up to somewhere close to full fitness in training.
It’s unlikely that Steven Gerrard will throw him in from the start in such a big game, especially as there’s no shortage of options in the middle of the park with Steven Davis, Glen Kamara, Joe Aribo, John Lundstram, Scott Arfield and Stephen Kelly all also available.
However, as he now has several weeks of training under his belt, the Curacao international is likely to make the matchday squad to face the French giants and could be used off the bench in the second half depending on the game situation.

In the video, he can be seen listening to instructions from Tom Culshaw and taking part in high-intensity training games.
The chance to be involved in these sorts of occasions under the Ibrox lights will likely have been a big factor in Bacuna’s decision to swap Huddersfield for Glasgow and Bears are eager to see what the dynamic midfielder, who notched five goals and four assists in the EFL Championship last season, can do.
