Ex-Rangers star Jordan Rossiter wore a Celtic top to Liverpool training because the Everton fan “couldn’t bear” donning the club’s jersey.
That’s according to English coach Karl Robinson, who worked in the Liverpool Academy during Jordan Rossiter’s time coming through at the Merseyside club.
Claiming that the midfielder’s Everton allegiances almost had him in bother when he wanted to don Goodison Park blue at training, Robinson claims Jordan Rossiter wore a Celtic top as an alternative.
“He was a massive Everton fan so we had to ban him from wearing an Everton kit in the gym,” Robinson told the I Had Trials Once podcast.
“But he hated Liverpool so much that he would just wear Celtic kit instead because he couldn’t bear to put a Liverpool kit on.
“He refused to wear the Liverpool kit because he was such a big Everton fan and that isn’t uncommon because so many players in the Liverpool academy who were local would’ve been Everton fans.
“I’m sure it would have been the same at Everton’s academy where they would have had lads who were massive Liverpool fans.”

Rangers fans will breathe a sigh of relief that Jordan Rossiter didn’t don a Celtic jersey whilst he was turning out for the Ibrox side.
Now 26-years-old, Jordan Rossiter moved to Rangers to much fanfare back in 2016 following the club’s promotion back to the Scottish Premiership.
Having broken through at Liverpool under Brendan Rodgers, there were high hopes for the kid in Glasgow and then manager Mark Warburton looked to have struck a solid deal.
But Jordan Rossiter’s time in Glasgow was plagued with injuries and the midfielder made only 16 appearances in four seasons at the Ibrox club.

Enjoying loan spells out at Bury and Fleetwood whilst still on the Rangers books, the midfielder struggled to have an impact on the Ibrox squad.
Moving to Fleetwood Town permanent at the end of his contract in 2020, Jordan Rossiter spent two years at the club before moving to Bristol Rovers.
The midfielder continues to be contracted to the English League One club but he hasn’t played since October 2022, yet another long-term injury devastating Jordan’s career.
