Former Rangers star Charlie Adam has slaughtered over-hyped Celtic star Jeremie Frimpong as the now Dundee midfielder claims he is “not good enough” for the Parkhead club.

Frimpong, 20, is considered a bit of a wonderkid by the Parkhead faithful with reports earlier this month even suggesting AS Roma were interested in the player to the tune of £13.8m [GDS].

Whilst that’s still excruciatingly high for a player with questionable delivery, it’s somewhat of a climb-down from the £50m figure once attached to Frimpong by Danny McGrain [Scottish Sun].

Celtic’s resident bhoy wonder is seemingly untouchable but after Frimpong’s latest display, Adam called the kid out.

“Your Frimpong, I don’t think he’s good enough,” said Adam [PLZ Soccer].

“Yes, he’s good going forward but defensively I don’t think he’s at the level everybody thinks he is.

“They desperately need a right-winger with James Forrest coming back from an injury and I think he’s been a massive loss to them.

“If you look at the number of players who might want away if they lose ten-in-a-row, you’re looking at a brand new team.”

Thank God someone said it.

There has been some amount of nonsense penned about the ex-Man City kid in recent seasons but there are plenty of times he looks like a rabbit in the headlights.

Frimpong is also nowhere near as effective offensively as some would make out and it’s incredible some have even suggested he’d pip James Tavernier in a combined Rangers and Celtic XI.

For the avoidance of doubt, there is no team anywhere where Frimpong is placed ahead of the relentless Rangers captain and he’s proving it this season.
