Former Rangers striker Jason Cummings was the star of the show as his double helped to force a FA reply for Shrewsbury against European, World and soon-to-be English Champions Liverpool.

The eccentric ex-Ibrox forward came off the bench to nab a double and ensure the Shropshire outfit have an FA Cup date with destiny at Anfield after the 2-2 draw.

But when asked about whether the trip to Merseyside would represent the “biggest game of his life”, Cummings didn’t even flinch in his response. Of course not.

“Nah,” said Cummings. “I’ve played in a few Old Firms so I dinnae think it gets much bigger than that”.

When journalist Ian Abrahams responded by claiming Anfield is bigger than the Old Firm Cummings simply said: “Nah, not for me, not for me”.

Whilst Cummings might’ve turned out for Rangers in a few Old Firms, he was never on the winning team.

Cumdog played in the gut-wrenching 3-2 defeat at Ibrox whilst he also played in the 5-0 defeat at Celtic Park, both in the 17/18 season.

But the fact he mentions those as the biggest matches of career shows just how much the striker gets what it means to play in one.

For anyone in Scotland, particularly someone with a Rangers family such as Cummings, it is the single biggest match on planet Earth.

A trip to Anfield might be a spectacular opportunity for the 24-year-old, it’s still not as big a game as turning out for Rangers against Celtic.
