Former Rangers star Matt Polster has sent a message on Twitter after he was knocked out on the pitch whilst turning out for current side New England Revolution.
Polster, 27, remains a popular guy at Ibrox and Rangers fans were worried to find out the player had to be substituted after being caught D.C. United’s Yordy Reyna over the weekend.
After recovering from the nasty knock, likeable American international Polster took to Twitter to reveal he’d been diagnosed with a “concussion”.
The ex-Chicago Fire man described the incident as a “scary moment”, thanking the medical staff for taking care of him and congratulating his teammates for securing a 2-0 win.
Polster’s comments come after NE Revolution manager Bruce Arena took to the press to provide a positive update regarding the player’s condition.
“I saw Matt a few minutes ago,” said Arena, as quoted by mlssoccer.com.
“He’s recovered in the sense that he’s got all his faculties, I guess.
“I don’t know what the doctors have concluded – what kind of head injury it might have been – but he’s got all his senses back. He seems OK now. I’m waiting to hear back.
“I’m sure we’re going to have a neurologist check him out when we get back to Boston, but he seems to be doing fine now.”
The player had been settling into life in New England very well prior to the incident with his performances earning good reviews from the Revolution’s supporters.

The only real blot on Polster’s copybook came against Philadelphia Union where the player picked up an unfortunate red card in a 2-1 defeat.
Polster spent 18 months at Rangers but joined the MLS club in the summer in search of more first-team opportunities in a reported £300k deal [Scottish Sun].
