Former Rangers star Kenny Miller is facing a ban after being hit by an SFA notice of complaint following an incident at the weekend.

Miller retired from playing after being released by Partick Thistle in January 2020 and since then has turned his focus to coaching, serving as an assistant manager at A-League clubs Newcastle Jets and Western Sydney Wanderers.

He returned to Scotland in late 2021 to take up the same role at Falkirk, following considerable upheaval at the League One club.

The Bairns have been unable to escape the third tier for several seasons despite their professional status and the current management team of Martin Rennie and Miller aren’t finding things easy.

On Saturday afternoon, Falkirk lost 2-0 at league leaders Cove Rangers, with Brad McKay’s 77th-minute red card killing off any chance of a late comeback from the visitors.

Miller vehemently disagreed with referee Colin Steven’s decision to send McKay for an early bath and he received a red card himself for his protestations.

The SFA confirmed on Tuesday that the ex-Ger had been hit with a notice of complaint for alleged misconduct.

He now faces a hearing on 17 March, when he will discover his punishment.

Miller was only sent off twice during his playing career but has been in trouble before with officials since moving into coaching.

Falkirk are currently fifth in League One but a whopping 22 points behind leaders Cove.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund have been dealt a double injury blow ahead of their trip to Ibrox in the Europa League.
