Former Rangers star Kris Boyd had included a total of nine Gers players in his combined Old Firm XI as he delivers a cold hard slap to Celtic amid a poor run of form this season [Scottish Sun].
The ex-Ibrox striker was speaking in the run-up to this weekend’s Old Firm derby with the Gers 16 points ahead of Celtic and looking to drag it to 19 with a victory.

Celtic have been on a woeful run over the piece this season but after clawing it back as of late Kris Boyd still believes that the Gers would dominate a combined first team.
Boyd selected Gers keeper Allan McGregor as his number one whilst a combined Gers defence of Borna Barisic, Leon Balogun, Connor Goldson and James Tavernier stand in front of him.
In midfield, Northern Irish veteran Steven Davis plays alongside Glen Kamara whilst one of only two Celtic players in David Turnbull makes it into the XI.
Up top, Boyd goes with Rangers stars Ryan Kent and Kemar Roofe to supplement Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard as the Frenchman wins the battle between himself and Morelos.
The line-up – which one can assume Boyd is doing on current form – is also in stark contrast from the one which the ex-Gers goalscorer picked in October.
Boyd selected a combined XI with four Celtic players ahead of the last Old Firm – which Rangers won 2-0 – with only Odsonne Edouard retaining his place.
Six Rangers players retained their place with the remaining spots being taken up by Shane Duffy, Scott Brown, Callum McGregor and Scott Arfield.
But forget Kris Boyd’s Rangers and Celtic combined XI – here’s our Rangers XI for one of the biggest Old Firm matches in recent history.
