Former Rangers midfielder and now Motherwell star Sean Goss has found himself at the centre of a red card controversy involvint Dundee United striker and ex-Celtic star Tony Watt.
Tony Watt was sent packing in Dundee United’s eventual 1-0 defeat to Motherwell for a high challenge on Sean Goss which appeared to catch the midfielder’s knee.
But since the decision there have been grumbles from some corners of Scottish football as they reckon Tony Watt tried to pull his leg away.
John Beaton decided to sent Tony Watt packing with five minutes to play in the first half after consulting VAR, with Dundee United already trailing Motherwell 1-0.
The Arabs failed to come back into the match and Tannadice boss Liam Fox questioned the decision come full time.
“It was a different angle and I see Tony Watt is pulling his leg back and there is very, very little contact with the player,” said Fox [Daily Record].
“Having seen the footage that the referee and the VAR has seen I could probably say, yes, it is a red card.
“But I have also seen other footage from different sources that maybe cast a wee bit of doubt over it so it is a bit of a contentious issue.”
Ex-Rangers star Sean Goss finds himself at centre of red card controversy
Dundee United have also since launched an appeal against the decision and hope to become the first club to overturn a direct VAR call in the Scottish game.
Ex-Rangers midfielder Sean Goss seems something of an innocent party in all of this but nonetheless the midfielder finds himself at the centre of the controversy.

Sean Goss, 27, spent six months on loan at Rangers from QPR in 2018 after coming through at Manchester United as a youngster.
Meanwhile, two Rangers legends have been included on the broadcasting team for a major media outlet ahead of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
