Former Rangers defender and USA legend Carlos Bocanegra has taken to Twitter to celebrate his short time at Ibrox.
The 110-cap former Fulham centre-half spent one full season at Rangers as the club entered administration and eventually tumbled down the divisions.
But despite joining the club during the most tumultuous period in its history, Bocanegra has praised Rangers after the club mentioned the defender in an On This Day post.
The big defender has explained that he “loved” his time in Glasgow and has some “great memories” playing with the Bears.
This comes after the club mentioned that they secured a double American swoop on August 17th back in 2011 in Bocanegra and compatriot Alejandro Bedoya.
Bocanegra would join Rangers on an undisclosed fee from St. Etienne and go on to make 41 appearances for the club, captaining the side on occasion and even playing three matches in Division 3.
But after his international career was being affected by the Ibrox club’s relegation Bocanegra quickly jumped ship on loan to Racing Santander.

From here Bocanegra would also spend a season at Chivas USA before retiring as a player.
The defender is now the Technical Director of MLS side Atlanta United and formed part of a Rangers contingent originally at the club after they signed a partnership with Scottish Premiership Aberdeen.
