Former Rangers player Matt Crooks scored at Old Trafford on Friday night to help Middlesbrough dump Man United out of the FA Cup.
Crooks moved to Ibrox in 2016 from Accrington Stanley after the Gers paid compensation fees to the English club for the midfielder and his then-teammate Josh Windass.

Windass would go on to make much more of an impact than Crooks, though, with the latter only making three appearances for the club before returning to the EFL with a loan move to Scunthorpe United.
He was sold six months later to Northampton Town but since then, he’s come on leaps and bounds as a player.
The 28-year-old earned a move to Rotherham United in 2019 and after an impressive 2020/21 Championship campaign, he was snapped up by Middlesbrough in the summer.
Crooks has already made 29 appearances for Boro, scoring seven goals, and the most recent of those came at the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ on Friday night.
The ex-Ger slid in at the back post to turn in Duncan Whatmore’s lofted effort from close range before running to the corner to celebrate with the 9000 travelling Boro fans.

The 64th-minute equaliser – a controversial one as the ball clearly struck Whatmore’s arm in the immediate build-up – was enough to force extra time and the underdogs would eventually triumph 8-7 on penalties.
Crooks had been replaced in the 78th minute so he wasn’t required from the spot, with Anthony Elanga’s sudden death miss booking Boro’s place in the Fifth Round.
Meanwhile, Rangers U18s were defeated by a rival club on Friday night, in a big blow to their league title hopes.
