Former Rangers midfield prospect Cammy Palmer has been praised after finally making his debut for Linfield.
The Northern Ireland youth international came up through the ranks at Ibrox and captained the Gers to the 2018/19 SPFL Reserve League title.

He appeared in a friendly against HJK Helsinki at Ibrox in January 2019 but didn’t manage to make a competitive first-team appearance, leaving Rangers permanently last month following loan spells with Partick Thistle, Orange County SC and Clyde.
Palmer was snapped up on a two-year deal by the Blues, who are chasing a fourth NIFL Premiership title in five seasons.
It’s likely been a frustrating month for the 20-year-old since he sealed his switch, given that he hadn’t been deemed quite ready for playing time, despite several inclusions on the bench.
However, he finally made his debut on Friday night, as David Healy’s side triumphed 2-1 over challengers Larne at Windsor Park.
Palmer was introduced in the 85th minute and impressed with several nice touches in the closing stages.
On Sunday afternoon, Linfield congratulated the former Ger on his debut and praised his brief showing: “Congratulations to midfielder @Cammypalmer_56 who made his Linfield debut in Friday night’s 2-1 win over Larne at Windsor Park. A positive start to his Linfield career.”
The talented youngster will be hoping for further playing time in the coming weeks, with two big fixtures lined up against Belfast rivals Glentoran and Cliftonville.
Linfield are currently five points ahead of second-placed Coleraine with 20 matches played.
Another former Rangers player received rave reviews for an all-action performance in his first start for a new club following a surprise return to Scottish football.
