Ex-Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has been mentioned alongside a return to Leeds United as the club’s valuation reportedly drops £250m after Premier League relegation.
The Sun are reporting that Leeds United’s potential new US owners have Steven Gerrard on a shortlist of potential managerial appointments should they take over at Elland Road.
However, the takeover from the owners of the NBA side San Francisco 49ers appears to have hit the skids after the group’s valuation of Leeds tumbled in the wake of relegation.
According to the report, 49ers Enterprises values Leeds United at £170m whilst the club’s Italian owner Andrea Radrizzani has slapped a £420m valuation on the club.
This is said to be the valuation attached to the takeover talks before Leeds Utd’s relegation to the Championship was confirmed last weekend following a 4-1 hammering at home to Tottenham Hotspur.

It looks set to be a pricy defeat and a pricy outcome to the season as negotiations continue over a potential takeover with the club’s valuation plummeting and the side without a manager.
Whilst Gerrard is believed to be interesting Leeds United’s would-be owners, it’s being claimed that the club’s players want legendary English boss Sam Allardyce to continue in charge.
Out of contract come the end of the campaign, the ex-Bolton manager was drafted in to try and salvage Leeds’ Premier League status in the final four games of the season, replacing Javi Gracia.
Other names being mentioned in the running for the Leeds United job alongside ex-Rangers boss Steven Gerrard include West Brom boss Carlos Corebran and ex-Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers.
Ex-Rangers boss Steven Gerrard left Ibrox in November 2021, jumping ship to Aston Villa in the Premier League before being sacked under a year later following a string of poor results.
