Jimmy Nicholl has discussed Rangers’ requirements in the transfer window and assessed Steven Davis, as quoted by the Scottish Herald.
The former Rangers player, coach, and current assistant manager of Northern Ireland, says the Gers have made strides this season.

However, like most others, he believes signings are needed in the summer window.
“Address whatever you think is wrong or needed and get the backing from the board,”, Nicholl advised Steven Gerrard, as quoted by the Scottish Herald.
“It’s about quality. It doesn’t matter if you’re steeped in Rangers or not, you’ve got to have quality. You certainly have to have just as much quality as Celtic.”

Furthermore, the 62-year-old went on to discuss Steven Davis. The midfielder signed for the Gers in January and started slowly, but has recently found his feet.
“He’s a naturally fit boy,” Nicholl continued. “People say he’s mild-mannered. He’s not. He may not say too much but there’s a determination in him out on the park to win a game of football.”
“You don’t remain captain of Southampton under five or six different managers if you’re not doing something right and contributing on the park that everyone gives you respect. He’ll be disappointed he hasn’t played more often, but he’ll be hoping to play a lot more between now and the end of the season and next year he will be a benefit to the club.”

Having been Michael O’Neill’s right-hand man with Northern Ireland since 2015, Nicholl certainly knows what Davis can offer.
The £2.7 million-rated star [Transfermarkt] has been a lynchpin for his country for a decade and there’s no reason he can’t replicate that form for Rangers.
