Former Rangers chairman Dave King has predicted how long Steven Gerrard will stay at Ibrox amid speculation linking him with the Liverpool manager’s job [Sky Sports].
King was Gers chairman when Gerrard was appointed as manager in May 2018 and has watched him make vast improvements to the squad and playing style since then.

The current campaign has been near-flawless and the Premiership title was confirmed on Sunday, despite there still being six games left to play, as Celtic slipped up at Tannadice.
King isn’t surprised that silverware has been delivered and isn’t paying much attention to reports that Liverpool are lining up Gerrard, who is contracted to Rangers until 2024, to replace Jurgen Klopp [Mirror].
“Anyone who has dealt with Steven will know he is not a man to go back on his word, who signs contracts and walks away from them,” said the former Gers chairman [Sky Sports]. “I cannot speak for him but if you ask me right now, the most likely scenario will be that he will be with Rangers until the end of his contract, at least, and he will build on the win. I think he can defend a title and go on and do well in Europe for Rangers as well.”
“And I think the time will go, maybe three or four years, where there will be opportunities and I would say a dream career would be Rangers, Liverpool, England for Steven. The dream is happening so far – he has come into Rangers, he has had to achieve and he has done that so far and is very much on track but I do not see any possibility of Steven leaving Rangers for Liverpool in the next couple of years.
“Not until at least this contract has matured – having said that, he is a long-time Liverpool supporter and Liverpool have a fantastic manager. Although they have had a bad season Liverpool are not going to abandon (Jurgen) Klopp in any way. So I do not think there will be any pressure from the Liverpool side – I just think the man that I know would not extend his contract and walk away.”

King’s comments will be music to the ears of Rangers supporters.
The entire mood around the club lifted when Gerrard was appointed as manager three years ago and while there have been some tough times since then, the Englishman has nailed it this season.
Rangers have been relentless since competitive fixtures began, are worthy Premiership Champions and are eyeing more success before the season is out.
Few fans would resent Gerrard for leaving for Liverpool at some stage in the future, given that it’s his club.
Yet, a few more years of the 40-year-old at the helm at Ibrox could bring further good times and silverware Rangers’ way.
In other news, a Rangers star has disclosed the seemingly secret label the playing squad gave the 2020/21 season before it began.
