As Rangers trounced Hamilton 8-0 at Ibrox the Glasgow club’s supporters quite rightly directed all the plaudits to the home team.

Gers captain and Man of the Match James Tavernier was singled out for particular praise whilst summer signing Bongani Zungu also caught the eye on his debut.

But off the park Rangers icon Neil McCann also caught the eye of the club’s supporters as his coverage on RangersTV was lauded by members of the Ibrox support on Twitter.

The former Ibrox winger is regularly applauded by Rangers fans for his coverage on other channels and has been routinely applauded by supporters since RangersTV’s coverage began this campaign.

The Gers have invested heavily in their media team for the coverage of games at Ibrox this season with supporters locked out due to coronavirus restrictions.

Alongside ex-Gers midfielder Alex Rae and show host Emma Dodds, McCann stood out for those Gers fans watching the 8-0 trouncing at home.

The Ibrox faithful have very much enjoyed his inclusion on the club’s media channel and they certainly haven’t forgotten his contribution on the pitch.

McCann spent five years at Ibrox between 1998 and 2003, playing over 150 times and winning nine trophies with the club.
