“I like Rangers,” said Warnock.
“I’m a Rangers guy really, so the Celtics and all that lot *shakes head*.
“I’ve always fancied having a go against Rangers and Celtic.”
It’s not the first time the English boss has praised Rangers either.
Back in March 2018, Warnock claimed Scottish football was on its way back but also that “there’s only one team in Scotland – and that’s Rangers” [Daily Record].
The former Cardiff boss, now 71, has also previously spoken about his desire to challenge the Old Firm duopoly in Scotland.
Speaking about his Scottish Premiership “wish” to manager a Hearts or Hibs and challenge the Old Firm, despite retiring at the end of last season.

“I’ve always fancied one of them – Hibs and Hearts,” said Warnock [Edinburgh Evening News].
“It appeals to me up there with them being neighbours.
“No disrespect to the big two but I’ve always been an underdog and I’ve always thought: ‘I wish I could get a club up there and get a team to rival Celtic and Rangers.”
