Former Celtic striker Carlton Cole has warned reported Rangers target Jack Wilshere off joining the Gers due to the plastic pitches in Scotland.
Cole spent a season at Celtic Park in 2015/16 and struggled to settle for the Parkhead club as injury and fitness issues affected his eight months in Glasgow.

Speaking as reports begin to intensify around Wilshere and Rangers, Cole has warned his fellow ex-West Ham player about the standard of surface up north.
This is especially relevant in the case of Jack Wilshere, who’s initially promising career has been besieged by injuries despite only being 28.
“It would be a bit too cold for him,” joked Cole [talkSPORT via Glasgow Times].
“Plus you guys up there have artificial pitches.
“When I played up there I had knee problems but some of the grounds had astroturf and I couldn’t play.
“As soon as I play on it or train on it I’m out for a week with swollen knees so it wouldn’t be great for him.”
Cole’s comments come after Wilshere was released from his reported £100k per week contract at West Ham United.
Wilshere would then take to Twitter adamant that he has been fit for eight months and that he has not been given a proper chance by the Hammers during his time at the club.
Reports linking Rangers to the player intensified when reputable West Ham insider Ex-WHU Employee claimed that Rangers had “already shown an interest.”
These intensified after controversial journalist Nichola Schira claimed that the Ibrox side were in “advanced talks” with the midfielder.
But before Rangers fans get too excited about Schira’s comments, there has been more than a few grumbles about the journalist’s previous speculative comments.
