Scottish radio host and personality Ewen Cameron has taken to Twitter to call out BBC Scotland’s chief sports writer Tom English after the journalist’s radio silence during Thursday night’s Europa League qualifiers.
Despite an outpouring of tweeting and comment during Celtic’s Champions League defeat against Cluj, English saw fit to ignore both Rangers’ demolition of FC Midtjylland and Aberdeen’s defeat to Rijeka.
Cameron, like the rest of us, posed the question to English as to why he didn’t cover or comment on those matches.
The response has more than 2.5k interactions and shows just how widely these views are held by the Scottish footballing public.
English actively avoided covering Rangers’ victory over Midtjylland, despite it being an incredible result for Scottish football.
Can you imagine if we’d lost the game or FC Midtjylland had knocked us out the tournament?
English’s radio silence comes after the club suggested both English and fellow BBC Scotland pundit Michael Stewart, alongside Killie director Phyllis McLeish and MSP William Coffey, “reconsider” [Club 1872] comments made about a crush at Kilmarnock’s Rugby Park earlier this month.

Cameron’s isn’t the only criticism that BBC Scotland have received for their biased coverage of Celtic this week.
Farcical BBC Sportsound tweets covering this week’s games show the clear difference in the coverage the national broadcaster gives Rangers and Celtic.
