Rangers take on Aris Limassol in the Europa League tonight and Philippe Clement will be hoping to continue his good start to life as manager.

The weekend draw against Aberdeen was disappointing but the Gers boss set his team up to create chances, which they did, they just couldn’t finish them.

A win for Rangers against Aris Limassol sees knockout football guaranteed after the new year once again and this is who Philippe Clement has gone with to get the job done.

Rangers v Aris Limassol team news

Since taking over in the Ibrox hotseat, the manager has rarely had a fully fit squad and, on this occasion, it was no different.

Leon Balogun not being selected for the Europa League squad and Connor Goldson’s suspension means that we have a different looking defence.

In midfield, Rangers are even more restricted with Ryan Jack and Nicolas Raskin both missing through injury for the visit of Aris Limassol.

The forward line is where Philippe Clement has more options though and with Danilo establishing himself as the first-choice number nine and Abdallah Sima as our most consistent goalscorer, who joined them on the right and at number ten were the places up for grabs.

Rangers line-up – 4-2-3-1

Jack Butland, James Tavernier, John Souttar, Ben Davies, Borna Barisic, John Lundstram, Jose Cifuentes, Sam Lammers, Todd Cantwell, Abdallah Sima, Danilo

The centre-half pairing of John Souttar and Ben Davies is one that we have seen before and they are more than experienced enough to deal with the opposition that they are facing on this occasion.

If their teammates do their jobs, they shouldn’t have too much to worry about anyway and might even be afforded the luxury of an early bath – but in a good way!

The bench is looking as strong as it has done all season and there is a mix of genuine pace and creativity should this XI not be capable of getting the job done without their help.

The countdown to kick-off has begun.
