Rangers asset Alfredo Morelos has been pretty much off the boil all season long as summer transfer interest turned the head of the £20m-rated striker.
The Gers held firm on their valuation of the Colombian as French Ligue 1 side tested the Ibrox club’s resolve with a reported bid of around £16m [Scotsman].

Lille – who are sitting third in the French top tier and who harbour Champions League ambitions – are said to be interested in the striker again this January.
The Scotsman are claiming that the French side – who made the knockout stages of the Europa League at Celtic’s expense – continue to “monitor” the striker’s situation.
By Morelos’ usual standards, the speculation surrounding his future in this transfer window has been incredibly quiet with only that report popping above the parapet.
It’s probably reflective of Morelos’ hot and cold – mostly cold – form in the first half of the campaign but it’s likely to be a blessing for Rangers should no-one test their resolve.
Towards the end of the year we were beginning to see that aggressive, potent, powerful striker who knits play together and hassles the opposition once more.
Rangers have gotten to this stage of the season really without their once talismanic forward and its to the credit of Steven Gerrard and co that the team is no longer dependent on the frontman.
But just think about how potent a force the Ibrox side could be with a fully firing Alfie and a team hungry to get over the finish line this season.

The Gers must resist cashing in on their top asset in this window at least because all the signs are there that El Bufalo is about to come roaring back.
Whilst he didn’t score against Celtic, Morelos played a key role in the recent 1-0 victory over our rivals and he had a strong social media game in the aftermath of the result.
