Whilst there may be no Rangers players involved in the Euro 2020 Final, British-based fans are longing for a Rangers connection to be brought into the game.
Commentary duo Clive Tyldesley and Ally McCoist have been the toast of the tournament’s coverage with the pair earning the plaudits of supporters for their positive, entertaining and informed broadcasting on ITV.
But there’s been a backlash from some on Twitter after it was announced ITV’s number one commentator Sam Matterface will be covering England v Italy alongside ex-Arsenal full-back Lee Dixon.

The broadcaster’s first choice, the decision hasn’t gone down well with football fans who’ve taken to Twitter to rail against the decision.
Legendary Rangers striker and former manager Ally McCoist remains the Ibrox club’s all-time record scorer (355) whilst Tyldesley covered a number of games on RangersTV last season when the club was crowned Champions.
The pair have a link – and a bond – between Rangers and the Ibrox club has never been far away from their coverage throughout the tournament.
But it’s for their personalities and broadcasting abilities that they’re most lauded and supporters from across the footballing spectrum put out a Euro 2020 Final plea to ITV on social media:
ITV have Ally McCoist and Clive Tyldesley and they decided to stuck with Lee Dixon pic.twitter.com/uNMYVBvD7u

You have to wonder if there's some clauses in contracts that mean certain commentators were guaranteed certain matches.
Honestly have never seen social media so unified in enjoying the combination of Clive Tyldesley and Ally McCoist.
Yet ITV completely overlook them.

Sam Matterface and Lee Dixon are definitely going to lose ITV the ratings battle on Sunday, they would blow the BBC away if they went with Clive and Ally.

I'd watch ITV if it was Clive Tyldesley & Ally McCoist. https://t.co/kIIFvmH6BX

Jenas or Dixon, what a decision that is to make 🤦🏽♂️
Either way I’m going to need to watch this on mute now!! … straight after the Italian national anthem 👍🏻
Imagine having Clive Tyldesley and Ally McCoist but going with Lee Dixon instead 😂 https://t.co/ai6NsSoKsu

Of course, we don't get Tyldesley and McCoist, why am I even surprised? https://t.co/p9W7QCzg4V
