Eros Grezda’s Motherwell display was, as you would expect, fan-pleasing.

Rangers hammered the Steelmen 7-1 at Ibrox yesterday to move to within two points of Celtic at the top of the Premiership. It was a sensational performance all-round from Steven Gerrard’s side, with plenty of positives.

One of the main ones, however, was that of Grezda. The Albanian international has been much-maligned during his time at Ibrox so far, but finally turned up yesterday.

He bagged a brace whilst putting in a fairly energetic display in his first full 90 minutes at Ibrox. It was a massive step forward for both him and the club as a whole yesterday with the thumping win.

And fans, as you might expect, have taken to social media to express their happiness at the Albanian’s performance. Here are some of the best replies to Grezda’s display from Gers fans:

Things can only get better

Grezda now has a big job on his hands to keep supporters upbeat about him.

Daniel Candeias has been in great form recently. It’ll be interesting to see whether Gerrard sticks with Grezda for the next match or reverts back to Candeias for Livingston.

For Grezda, however, he must just simply be delighted to start getting the supporters on his side. He had previously failed to score or assist in any of his six previous appearances in a Rangers jersey. To say it had been a slow start to his Ibrox career would be accurate.

It may be hypothetical, but Candeias would also have fancied his chances against that 10-man Motherwell defence yesterday. It’s the sort of contest that the Portuguese would’ve thrived in also, so it’s difficult to dispute Candeias coming back into the side.

Supporters will probably expect the Pedro Caixinha signing to come back into the starting XI also. What they were looking for this afternoon from Grezda, however, were signs of improvement.

That’s exactly what they got.
