Eros Grezda’s performance against Hearts was something to shout about, and he believes being top of the Premiership will bring confidence to Ibrox.

Rangers made it four domestic wins on the spin with a big 2-1 win at Hearts today. The result moved the club to the top of the table by a point. It was a huge result for Gers, who were dominant for large spells.

It was a game full off aggression and energy, with Grezda one of the surprising inclusions in the starting XI. The Albanian certainly had plenty to be positive about with regards to his own performance also.

But, when speaking to Rangers TV after the game, Grezda stated it was being top that will simply give everyone a lift.

“It’s always good when you play in the first XI. I gave everything I had.

“Now we’re at the top of the league and we’re going to enjoy that. It’s really nice, and it gives us confidence.

“Now we have to take it one by one. It’s going to be a very hard month until the break, and I hope we go in this way.”

Target? Hold on till New Year

The big challenge now for Rangers is holding onto their place at the top of the table. Huge matches against Aberdeen, Hibernian, and Celtic are all awaiting the club this month, and they’re all colossal fixtures.

Rangers will want to keep this going until New Year at least, and that’s likely the target being thrown down by the Rangers manager too.

For Grezda individually, he certainly impressed in just his fourth start at Tynecastle. Showing energy and drive to get into good areas, he had several opportunities to notch what would’ve been just his third Rangers goal.

The Albanian was also highly impressive tracking back. He caused Michael Smith in particular to make several poor errors throughout the 90 minutes. His determination, aggression, and moments of flair provided supporters with a huge boost.

Rangers will now face Aberdeen on Wednesday night looking to defend their place at the top of the table.
