Following on from Allan McGregor, we take a look at his backup between the sticks, Wes Foderingham.
While there have been improvements on the pitch, 2018/19 will undoubtedly have been the 28-year-old’s toughest season since moving to Ibrox.
Up until the return of McGregor, Fods had been the near undisputed first choice. This time around, he turned out just eight times.
However, at no point did we hear complaints from the Englishman. Sure, he admitted that he sees himself as a No.1 keeper and that he wouldn’t be satisfied with a spot in the dugout in the long-term [Daily Record]. Yet, he also acknowledged the outstanding form of his fellow stopper.
Fods got his head down and showed himself to be a consummate professional across the season.
When called upon, he hardly put a foot wrong. He came away from half of his outings with clean sheets.
Against St Johnstone at home in February, a number of outstanding saves prevented embarrassment. Furthermore, a decent stop from Oliver Burke at Ibrox earlier this month helped the Gers to a comfortable Old Firm win.

Over four years at Ibrox, Foderingham has proven himself a dependable keeper. Unfortunately for him, though, he simply isn’t quite at the same level as McGregor.
Therefore, as soon as Gerrard arrived and made the veteran a priority signing, his season was doomed.
I don’t think an A can be handed out to a player who featured just eight times, but by the same token, Foderingham did all that could be asked of him this season.
