They face a Rangers side who have recorded a remarkable six consecutive clean sheets so far this season but who may lack some creativity due to the continued absence of Joe Aribo.

On Thursday afternoon, Micky Mellon confirmed that prolific bluenose Lawrence Shankland would be fit to play some role after over a month out with an ankle injury [Evening Express] and United have since bolstered their options yet further with the acquisition of Florent Hoti.

The English-born midfielder, who has hopes of representing Kosovo at international level, has signed a two-year contract following a successful trial period.

The Terrors paid an undisclosed fee to EFL League One club Rochdale for the 19-year-old, who made two EFL Trophy appearances last season.

“Flo is a really talented boy and we feel, with the ingredients we’ll be able to add to an already impressive lad, that we’ll have a really good player here at Dundee United,” manager, Micky Mellon, told Dundeeunitedfc.co.uk.

Mellon went on to assert that Hoti is ready to make an impact at first-team level and so he could feature straight away at Ibrox on Saturday.

Rangers head into the fixture three points clear of Hibernian at the top of the Premiership table while United are currently eighth after gaining promotion from the Championship last season.
