Dundee boss James McPake has confirmed that the Dens Park club are interested in signing former Rangers midfielder Graham Dorrans.
The former West Brom, Norwich and Scotland midfielder was released from Rangers by mutual termination after struggling with injuries since arriving at Ibrox in 2017.
But despite acknowledging Dorrans has “a lot of options” McPake said he would “absolutely” like to make the player part of the Championship side’s squad.

“When a player like that pops up you’d be mad not to try and have a look at it,” McPake told BBC Sport.
“Would I like him? Absolutely, but I’m also very aware of the budget the board have already given me.
“Graham will have a lot of options. I like him as a person, as a footballer. We’ve spoken about a lot of stuff but not money. If I had a chance to bring him here within budget and make it work then I would.”
Dorrans was linked with a move to the Championship outfit earlier in the month [Daily Record].
McPake even claims that he jokingly told Dorrans over a beer that he’d be getting the player in at Dundee at some point.
Now, McPake believes that Dorrans still has “plenty to offer” and has a point to prove after his disappointment at Rangers.

But he did confirm that the Dundee side, whilst having spoken to Dorrans on the phone, haven’t made the player a concrete offer.
With Dundee sitting in sixth place, currently seven points off rivals Dundee United who top of the Scottish Championship, they could certainly use him.
