A Dundee bar has decided to board up their windows as bizarre rumours spread online regarding some kind of Rangers and Chelsea fan-led militia invading the City of Discovery.
Gers fans have been chuckling all week long as ridiculous WhatsApp messages suggest angered British football fans are set to descend on the Scottish northeast due to chants about Queen Elizabeth II from the Tannadice terraces.

Messages doing the rounds on social media have claimed that some kind of hybrid militia made up of Rangers, Chelsea, West Ham, Millwall and Stockport County fans (amongst others) along with some Northern Irish paramilitaries are getting set to invade – and potentially sack – the city of Dundee.
At the crux of it all, these utterly ridiculous rumours appear to suggest that undercover football supporters are gearing up an assault in defiance of edgy Dundee United fans chanting about the Queen.

It’s well known that Rangers fans and their Dundee United counterparts don’t see eye-to-eye but you don’t need us to tell you that something stinks regarding these rumours.
They certainly say more about those Dundee United fans indulging in them than they do about the Ibrox club’s support and whilst we’re sure the visit of those ‘rabid, aggressive, violent Rangers fans’ to Dundee will go by without so much as a whimper one bar in the city is taking no chances.
The Snug have, rather hilariously, taken the drastic step of boarding up their windows as a wild horde of Rangers-led savages prepare to come to town. A notice on the bar’s Facebook page reads:
“WE ARE STILL OPEN AS USUAL.
“Due to certain circumstances we have decided to board the windows for tomorrows game, a lot of rumours going around and would rather be safe than sorry!
“Open at 11 tomorrow and karaoke tomorrow night 7- late! See everyone soon.”
You’ve got the give it to the Rangers, West Ham, Chelsea, Millwall and Stockport County firms, as well as the UDA/UVF, for managing to arrange such a logistically challenging assault on two-bit Dundee United fan watering holes.
Credit must go to the supporters of Chelsea, Millwall and West Ham especially – not exactly known to be friendly with one another – for putting their differences aside to *check notes* angrily deface the Jim McLean statue.
