Philippe Clement’s time at Rangers looks like being at end after yet another dismal defeat and performance.
It is no longer the results that are the issue, with a hostile Ibrox crowd witnessing an insipid display which saw no clear cut chances.
According to the Heart and Hand podcast’s David Edgar, fans should be keeping an eye out for an official announcement after The Sun reported that Philippe Clement is on the verge of being sacked as the Rangers manager.

Philippe Clement facing Rangers sack
Fears had circulated that Clement would escape the axe due to the £17m loss that was revealed in the Gers accounts, however, Patrick Stewart looks like being a man of his word with STV’s Peter Smith also covering the story:
“I’ve said consistently now, we are not refusing to make changes because of finances.
“So, all I can do is reiterate that, but that’s absolutely not the case. To keep somebody in position to avoid a termination payment, that’s just a false economy.
“So, that’s not a way to run a club and that’s not what we’re doing.
“Decisions have been made for the long-term interest of the football club, not to save money.”
That Edgar has said that Clement is ‘gone’ suggests that an official announcement might not be far away.
Rangers making the right decision despite previous failure
Stewart also spoke about not wanting to change manager again because, in the recent past, nothing has improved despite three different bosses having a go at closing the gap to Celtic.
All were backed, but the problems run deeper that just the man in the Ibrox hotseat.
It is a false equivalence to back Clement purely because those who preceded him have been the wrong choice too and it looks like Stewart has seen enough.
Clement was never going to resign. Talks of fighting for the club and being convinced that he was the right man for the job seem to have fallen on deaf ears.
Only this time last year it looked like Rangers had found the right man, now, it looks like that search is about to begin again.
