Reports this morning mean that Rangers might not be completely out of the running to snap up Dominic Solanke just yet. A proposed move to Crystal Palace has reportedly stalled.
The England U21 forward is hot property at the moment. Rangers were just one of a number of clubs from across Europe who have been linked with Solanke. Talksport even reported the move to Rangers was all but done back in November.

But on Sunday it looked like Palace was to be Striker’s chosen destination. The Daily Mail reported that he was undergoing a medical at Selhurst Park with a view to a rest of season loan with the London club.

The same paper reported today that Crystal Palace are now set to revive interest in Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi. This comes after the Solanke deal “hit a snag”, with the striker recovering from a hamstring knock and wanting time to consider his options.
That would lead anyone to believe that if there is a Rangers option on the table Solanke is considering it. But the likes of Premier League sides Huddersfield and Brighton are also interested along with teams in Europe.

Rangers might well remain a long shot. But we’re not completely out of the running yet. The Solanke saga has been so protracted and confusing I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised at any outcome.
None of the clubs with reported interest boast the history, size and grandeur of playing at Ibrox. Steven Gerrard may also yet prove an attractive lure.
Solanke is yet to play for Liverpool this season, but this ex-Rangers striker believes he’s the real deal.
