One of the players who has failed to make a massive impact at Rangers is Ridvan Yilmaz.

Ridvan Yilmaz is a very talented and promising young player, but things have not worked out for him at Rangers so far.

Ridvan Yilmaz struggling at Rangers

As reported by Sky Sports in July 2022, Rangers paid Besiktas an initial transfer fee of £3.4 million to Besiktas for Yilmaz, who signed a five-year contract with the Scottish Premiership club.

Yilmaz made eight starts and one substitute appearance in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers last season.

The 22-year-old gave two assists in those games.

So far this season, the 22-year-old Tukey international left-back has made two starts and one substitute appearance in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers.

Kris Boyd gives verdict on Ridvan Yilmaz

Former Rangers star Kris Boyd has not been impressed by the youngster at all.

The Sky Sports pundit has said that the left-back has been a disaster at Rangers.

Boyd wrote in The Scottish Sun: “Ridvan Yilmaz was meant to replace Barisic, but he has been another disastrous buy and didn’t even make the Europa League squad.”

Yilmaz has really struggled at Rangers.

I believe that if the situation does not improve in the coming weeks and months, then the youngster should look to leave the Scottish Premiership club at the end of the season.

Yes, there have been injury issues, but the fact of the matter is that even when fully fit and available, Yilmaz has failed to get a run in the team.

Perhaps it would be better for Rangers and for the left-back to part ways in the summer of 2024.
