As Rangers missed a trick in Edinburgh, it allowed a feisty Hibs side the chance to earn a draw against the Ibrox side despite the Gers’ dominance for much of the match.
Rangers were tested by Hibs physicality and were particularly wasteful in front of goal, allowing Hibs to snatch a 2-2 draw in the second half – albeit with an offside goal.

But there were some positives from Hibs’ spirited display, none more so than in the shape of ex-Dunfermline striker Kevin Nisbet.
The 23-year-old striker hurried and harried the Rangers defence for the full 90 minutes and save for Jon McLaughlin, probably would’ve got himself on the scoresheet in Edinburgh.
The normally reliable Rangers defence had a particularly off day but it was Nisbet’s industry and sharpness which caused floundering defender Connor Goldson all sorts of issues.
Nisbet was eager to get on the ball, quick to turn and shoot when he received it and worked incredibly hard chopping back and fighting with the Ibrox defenders.
The striker might not have scored, but he showed exactly why the Hibees went all out to pip the forward ahead of rivals Hearts in the summer window.
Hibs and Hearts weren’t the only ones credited with an interest either.
Rangers were reportedly watching the player – believed to be a boyhood bluenose – last season after he netted a total of 23 goals for the Pars in the last campaign [Glasgow Times].

Rangers instead opted to splash out heavily on strikers Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten as they looked to bolster their forward line.
But did the Gers miss a trick not taking a cheap gamble on this hard-working, industrious young striker who knows where the goal is?
