Alfredo Morelos’ social media post has certainly got people into a frenzy today.
After Rangers overcame Celtic 1-0 at Ibrox on Saturday, fans and players have been lording in the glory. Quite right too, as Rangers fans have waited six years for a league victory over their fierce rivals.
Those joyous celebrations from the Rangers players have continued well into today. It certainly did for Morelos anyway, who posted an image on his Twitter page that has sparked some angry responses.

Mixed response depending on who you support
As you can imagine, the responses have mainly come from opposition fans when it comes to the anger. Many of his other responses have been Rangers supporters showering their 20-goal striker with praise.
The image shows Morelos standing tall after a clash with Celtic youngster Anthony Ralston. The right-back can be seen in pain after a collision with the Colombian.
Morelos had several notable incidents in the game. He had flashpoints with Ralston, Scott Brown, and Ryan Christie in different stages of the match. This has led to a backlash from both sets of supporters, with Celtic fans claiming he should’ve seen red, whilst Gers fans have dismissed the accusations.
But the social media post has also been questioned considering the pain the Celtic defender is in at the background.
The reality is, in our opinion, that there’s absolutely nothing in this. Nobody wishes any form of harm to Ralston, but many love to pick on Morelos for the smallest of incidents.
It’s highly unlikely therefore that Morelos has pulled this picture up in any sort of sinister fashion. It’s a picture of victory in many Rangers fans’ eyes. An image that subsequently symbolises just how the two teams performed on the day.
Could the Colombian have been a tad more thoughtful in the image he posted? Maybe, however only if you want to be overly-cynical.
What did you think of the post? Was it not just Morelos simply celebrating victory as opposed to celebrating opposition players being hurt? Let us know what you think of the reaction to the image.
