The Daily Mail reports that DC United want Rangers keeper Wes Foderingham.

The MLS club, who currently have Wayne Rooney on the books, are ‘looking to recruit on a budget’ and are said to be lining up a move for the Gers stopper, whose contract will expire in the summer.

Fods has spent four years at Ibrox since signing from Swindon Town and for some time was the first choice keeper. He proved dependable between the sticks as a good shot-stopper with a big physical presence.

However, the return of Allan McGregor in the summer of 2018, shunted the Englishman down to the no.2 spot.

Given his lack of game time, it was expected that he would leave the club this summer, but he reportedly rejected offers from elsewhere in favour of seeing out his contract [Scotsman].

By the time the January transfer window rolls around, he will be free to talk to potential suitors and the report claims he’s already weighing up his options with a move abroad a possibility.

Should Fods leave Ibrox, it would pave the way for Robby McCrorie to be promoted to the back-up spot.

The Scotland U21 international is currently out on loan at Queen of the South and is regarded by many as the natural long-term successor to McGregor.
