Rangers are set to host a resurgent Hibs under David Gray in the Scottish Premiership at Ibrox.

The Gers are currently on the worst home losing run in the club’s 153-year history, with four straight defeats to Queen’s Park, St Mirren, Motherwell and Fenerbahce hanging over Ibrox.

Barry Ferguson is yet to win at Ibrox as Rangers manager and David Gray will hope his now 3rd-place Hibs side can cause yet another upset in Glasgow’s southside.

Rangers have also been sent a reminder of the scale of the challenge, as Hibs boss Gray is officially recognised for the club’s sensational form in recent weeks.

David Gray named Manager of the Month ahead of Rangers v Hibs

David Gray has been named March’s Scottish Premiership Manager of the Month after guiding Hibs into 3rd in the Scottish Premiership table.

This is the second month in a row that the Hibs coaching staff have picked up the award.

The former Hibs defender – who scored a late winner against Rangers in the 2016 Scottish Cup Final – is unbeaten in 15 matches and has taken the Edinburgh side from the foot of the table to a European spot.

Hibs went unbeaten in March, earning victories over Hearts (2-1) and St Johnstone (3-0) either side of a 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock.

Rangers coach Neil McCann warned about Hibs’ threat heading into the match and Rangers have been sent a reminder after Gray was awarded the Manager of the Month award.

The interim Ibrox coach also paid tribute to the Hibs gaffer for his progress at Easter Road this season.

“I’m absolutely delighted for David,” McCann said. “I spoke to him actually previous to me coming in here because I know what it’s like.

“It’s not straight cut, it’s not easy and you’ve got ideas and sometimes it takes a wee bit of time before new players bed in and new ideas bed in. And I’m delighted for David because he’s certainly coached a very very good side and they’ve got things going for them.”

Hibs set to be without three key players for Rangers test

David Gray has confirmed that three influential Hibs players are major doubts for the trip to face Rangers at Ibrox.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Gary has explained that midfielder Joe Newell and striker Elie Youan are both potentially set to miss the Scottish Premiership clash.

Gray has also suggested that whilst Nicky Cadden is improving his fitness the defender is still a doubt for the trip to Ibrox.

”Nicky Cadden is getting closer all the time,” said Gray. “Which is really positive. The rest of the group is pretty healthy as well.

“The significant ones that are going to miss out are Joe Newell and Elie (Youan) is still struggling a little bit but we’ll see how he goes.”

Rangers are waiting on latest fitness tests for Vaclav Cerny and Bailey Rice ahead of the 3pm kick-off at Ibrox.
