Outgoing Rangers chairman Dave King has said he thinks there’s “no chance” Alfredo Morelos will be sold in January, no matter the price.

The South Africa-based businessman was talking to RangersTV after announcing his plans to step down from his role as chairman at Ibrox next season.

And despite prominent questions in the media over the club’s finances, Dave King is absolutely certain Morelos is going nowhere.

“I see no chance of that [selling Morelos],” said Dave King.

“And I say that because I’m certainly encouraging the manager not to sell him any price.

“I think, for us, it’s more important to win the league title.

“So, if someone comes along and offers even an obscene amount of money, my suggestion would be not to take it – and the manager doesn’t want to.

“I see no chance of Morelos being sold, no matter what happens. We need him to compete for the title and I would be extremely uncomfortable, no matter what the money was, at letting Morelos.

“It’s fair to say it will not happen.”

The future of Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has been the subject of intense speculation in recent months with the striker’s 22 goals reportedly attracting interest.

But Dave King is clear that for this season, the prospect of Morelos firing Rangers to 55 is much more enticing than the prospect of £25m.

King’s comments also back up those of Steven Gerrard and Ross Wilson, who have both claimed the Colombian is going nowhere.
