Rangers manager Michael Beale has confirmed that Croatia star Borna Barisic will return from an extended World Cup break for the upcoming clash with Motherwell.
The Gers are set to host the Steelmen at Ibrox on December 29th meaning that the 30-year-old left-back should be available for selection in the upcoming January 2nd Old Firm v Celtic.
With Rangers summer signing Ridvan Yilmaz still over a month away from returning due to a serious hamstring injury, the news represents an almighty boost for the Ibrox side.
The Gers are thin on the ground at left-back and Borna Barisic – coincidentally the Ibrox side’s only World Cup representative – is sorely missed at present.
Rangers look set to call on Adam Devine to cover the Croatian, despite the fact the Academy kid is naturally a right-back. The young Scot did impress against Hibs.

The Ibrox manager also confirmed that fellow Croatian Antonio Colak is expected back in the squad for Friday’s trip to Ross County whilst Steven Davis will miss the clash with Aberdeen due a knock.
Vice-captain and influential centre-back Connor Goldson will be back in the squad for the trip to Aberdeen.
“Borna is back in Croatia, we hope to have him back for the Motherwell game,” said Beale, ahead of the visit to Pittodrie [Rangers].
“Davis is away for a scan for a small injury, he is the only fresh injury. Connor Goldson will come back into the squad tomorrow.
“Colak is not available, he will be on Friday.”

Rangers have been without Borna Barisic ever since the left-back jetted off to Qatar with Croatia and the country’s impressive progress at the tournament has impacted the Ibrox squad.
The left-back might’ve only played once for his country at the tournament – in the penalty kicks Last 16 win over Japan – but Borna was an important part of the squad who finished 3rd in the Middle East.
Meanwhile, one reportedly £5m-rated star has expressed interest in signing a deal with Rangers.
