Rangers supporters won’t be able to access the home Brondby end during Thursday night’s Europa League clash.
Danish police have contacted Rangers with a strict warning for the Glasgow side, explaining that there has been a significant number of tickets purchased by Gers fans for areas designed for home supporters.
There has been an update by Rangers Supporters Liaison Officer, Greg Marshall on the situation.
Greg states on Twitter:
“Danish Police have confirmed that a sizable policing operation will be in place to ensure that only away supporters with valid tickets for the away section will gain entry. Away supporters will not be granted access to home sections.
“Additionally, it is advised supporters who do not have a valid ticket should not travel to the match.”
With the current pandemic easing, but still present, it would be wise for fans to avoid undue travel. Especially in the run-up to the festive season.
Last year saw Covid-19 cases rise before the Christmas period which put the country back into another lockdown.
“Police have advised only tickets purchased directly from Rangers are valid” Marshall added.
While some supporters have bought tickets for the Brondby home end, these have already been cancelled.
It is a vital match for both clubs and avoiding unnecessary trouble would be the best possible outcome.
Rangers currently sit third in Group A with three points, while Brondby is rock bottom, having lost two and drawn one match so far and failing to score.
The atmosphere is sure to be electric and with the home side needing a victory, Rangers will need to put in a similar performance as they did at the weekend to secure the three points.
On Rangers last visit to Denmark, the police praised the club.
