Rangers take on PSV Eindhoven this evening and striker Danilo has sent a strong message ahead of a huge game.

The Gers beat Servette to reach the Champions League play-off round and are now potentially just 180 minutes away from the group stage.

You could forgive Rangers fans for not being all that optimistic at the moment though.

Performances have been disappointing to start the new season and Saturday’s narrow win over Morton hasn’t inspired confidence.

Servette should have been out of sight even halfway through the first half of the first leg but Ranger scold’t put the tie away before heading to Switzerland for a nervy night.

Rangers simply have to bring a new level of performance tonight in order to beat a strong PSV side.

Peter Bosz’s men hamerde Sturm Graz 7-2 in their qualifying tie and look to be in a fine form as they head to Ibrox.

Rangers beat PSV at this exact stage a year ago but Beale and co need to pull out all the stops to repeat that fate.

Danilo sends message ahead of Rangers clash

This game will mean a lot to Rangers striker Danilo, who only recently left Dutch football for a move to Rangers.

Danilo featured for Ajax, Twente and Feyenoord over in the Netherlands before heading to Glasgow last month.

The Brazilian has blown hot and cold in the early stages of his Rangers career and there would be no better time to announce himself as a new Gers hero than tonight.

Danilo has taken to Twitter ahead of tonight’s game, posting just five words ahead of a crucial night.

‘Nothing will hold us back’ said the Rangers striker, with even Feyenoord fans responding with encouraging messages as they hope to see PSV lose.

Rangers boss Beale will love this kind of mentality from his new striker but it’s true that actions speak louder than words, and Rangers need a big performance – not just strong messages.
