Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers has offered praise to new signing Danilo having seen him in action for Feyenoord.
The Gers paid a decent chunk of cash to sign Dessers from Salernitana earlier in July.
That didn’t stop Michael Beale from going back into the market for another striker though.
Rangers pounced for Danilo, securing the Feyenoord striker in a deal worth up to £6million.
Beale clearly felt that he needed to completely overhaul his attacking options at Rangers this summer.
When you factor in the loan deal for Abdallah Sima and the move for Sam Lammers, Rangers will look very different in the final third this season.
Beale has got what he wanted, but now faces major expectation levels too; Rangers have spent heavily up front and fans will expect to see goals.
Cyriel Dessers praises Rangers new boy Danilo
There’s a certain irony in going for Danilo as well as Dessers.
When Dessers left Feyenoord last summer, Danilo was one of the strikers brought to De Kuip to help build a new strike force.
Dessers and Danilo just missed each other at Feyenoord but the Nigerian international is certainly aware of his new teammate.
Dessers has told the Daily Record that he thinks he can form a great striking partnership with new boy Danilo.
Beale may well look to play them up top together but Dessers wouldn’t confirm that idea.

The Nigerian international noted that he played against Danilo on a number of occasions in Dutch football and knows him well.
Dessers also watched ‘a lot’ of Feyenoord games last season and showed what Danilo can offer as he racked up 14 goals in all competitions.
Dessers feels that Danilo is very impressive when it comes to both goals and assists, believing that he can do what few other strikers can in the final third.
“We could work together. He’s a great striker,” said Dessers. “I played a lot against him in the Netherlands so I know him as a player. When you play at a top club there will always be competition. Danilo and I need to make each other stronger. But it could be a partnership. I don’t want to tell everyone the plans of the coach but we could play together.”
“I watched a lot of Feyenoord games last season and Danilo will bring goals to Rangers. He’s good in the combinations and can provide assists as well. Not all strikers can do that but he can,” he added.
