Annan Athletic goalkeeper Jon Connolly has taken to Twitter to show off his framed Jon McLaughlin top – despite claims the Rangers squad were unaccommodating with their jerseys.
The Daily Record this week ran a piece suggesting the Rangers squad snubbed their lower league rivals after the recent Scottish Cup victory which finished 3-0 to the Gers.

The story stemmed from the comments of Annan star Tony Wallace, who bemoaned Rangers players for not automatically handing their jerseys out to the League Two club’s players.
“I never got one. I asked about six people but they said they couldn’t. They said a few boys had took them,” said Wallace.
“That’s the only disappointing thing. You want something to show and you expect a club like that size to say, ‘You know what, every single person give your top away’.
“We’re disappointed. There’s a few boys who never got one and the kitman just kind of shut the door on us.
“They shut it but only two or three got the tops.
“You’d think a club like Rangers should be realising we might not get to play them again so give your tops away, let them have it. That’s disappointing for us.”

This despite the fact one of his teammates beat him to Steven Davis’ jersey and Jon Connolly left with that of stand-in Rangers stopper Jon McLaughlin.
We get the disappointment here for those who missed out – it would rankle with us too – but it’s not clear exactly why and we’re not going to go out our way to cast aspersions as to the reasons.
What we do know is that getting his hands on the Jon McLaughin jersey meant the world to Jon Connolly as he took to Twitter to show the Rangers jersey in a DIY frame.
It’s a nice touch from big Jon and shows just how much this sort of thing means to players from the lower leagues when they play the likes of Rangers.
On a rain-soaked night in Galabank, one Rangers star also made a young kid’s day as he beamed his way through 60 minutes in the Scottish Cup.
