Former Cardiff boss Neil Warnock has previously spoken of his “wish” to manage Hibs or Hearts to break the Rangers Celtic Old Firm duopoly.
The Sheffield born boss has left a lasting legacy in England and Wales and with both positions now vacant, there’s an outside chance he may well get his wish.
Leaving Cardiff City this week after three years in charge in Wales, both Edinburgh clubs are now on the hunt for new managers.

Hearts made the decision to relieve Craig Levein of management duties just a couple of days before the Betfred Cup final with Rangers.
Hibs sacked former boss Paul Heckingbottom after their own Betfred Cup humbling to Celtic.
It means that if the 70-year-old – who has managed 17 clubs in his career – was ever likely to get his wish to challenge the Old Firm, it’d have to be right now.
“I’ve always fancied one of them – Hibs and Hearts,” Warnock told the Edinburgh Evening News.
“It appeals to me up there with them being neighbours.
“No disrespect to the big two but I’ve always been an underdog and I’ve always thought: ‘I wish I could get a club up there and get a team to rival Celtic and Rangers’.”

Could you really see Neil Warnock in charge at Tynecastle or Easter Road?
Even if he was to get the job, are either side really in a position to challenge the Rangers Celtic Old Firm duopoly?
